Tips for Parents

-Be Involved and supportive
-Schedule regular parent teacher conferences
-Monitor your child’s grades and progress
-Join the SAC (Student Advisory Council) at your child’s school and become a voting member
-Have your child read 20 minutes daily
-Have rewards at home for good academic performance and behavior at school
-Speak positive affirmations to your child daily (before school is ideal)
-Encourage your child to try to sit towards the front of the classroom if and when possible
-Set a good example by your own actions
-Monitor technology usage
-Try to support school rules and goals (especially in front of your child)
-Encourage your child to do their best
-Encourage your child to be creative and dream big
-Support your child’s interests and talents
-Tell your child you love them
-Show your child lots of attention
